One of our recent pieces of work covered the new build construction of a Starbucks drive through coffee shop on Newport Road, Cardiff.
SPMS’ remit was to carry out all renders and external wall insulation. A METSEC SFS infill walling was used from the floor to soffit of the primary steel frame. Knauf Exterior Aquapanels where then fitted to the SFS framing to give a true flat surface for the external wall insulation and renders. The advantages of SPMS fitting the SFS framing and the exterior layers is it ensures a true and flush finish on all surfaces.
A number of areas had the Soltherm HD Weather external wall insulation system fitted using an EPS insulation board with the Soltherm winter base coat, Soltherm MTC texture coat and the Soltherm top coat with anti-algae and anti-fungal properties. All colours in the topcoat use natural pigments ensuring the colour quality for the future. By using a chemical dry system unlike most others, which are evaporation dry, we were able to meet the stringent deadlines imposed by the client for completion.
